EMILY HARPER
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Emily Harper began dancing at the age of four at Dance Stop Studios in Marietta. During her middle and high school years, she continued to grow as a dancer and deepen her love for the art as a member of the Dance Stop Company under the artistic direction of Lynette Strickland. During her years with the company, Emily had the privilege of studying ballet with master teachers Melanie Forsberg and Terrel Paulk, both of whom made a lasting impact on her development as a dancer.
After graduating from high school, Emily felt the Lord leading her to work with children and pursued a degree in Elementary Education at Furman University. From 1996 to 2001, she enjoyed a fulfilling career teaching middle school History and English at East Cobb Christian School in Marietta.
Today, Emily is grateful for the opportunity to combine her love of dance with her passion for teaching children at Compass, where God is honored as the giver of the gift of dance. She considers it a joy to help students develop their technique, confidence, and love for dance in an encouraging, Christ-centered environment.
Emily and her husband, Matt, enjoy spending time with their two adult children, Will and Mallory, and cherishing time together as a family.
